Trend Magazine Life with Style Awards Winner!
Leading social enterprise Transition Extreme Sports Ltd gained more recognition for its iconic extreme sports facilities and community work last night at the prestigious Trend Magazine ‘Life with Style Awards’ Finals Event held at the Marcliffe Hotel in Aberdeen .
Matched against Aberdeen Sports Village for the ‘Health Destination – Clubs’ category sponsored by David Lloyd Leisure, Transition Extreme were delighted be selected as winners for this award.
Transition Extreme were also finalists in The Community Award Category sponsored by The Craig Group (which Transition Extreme won in 2010) alongside The Breadmaker, Satrosphere and winners CLAN.
Speaking about the Awards, Grahame Paterson, CEO of Transition Extreme Sports said “ I’m very grateful to Trend Magazine, their judging panel and sponsors for the recognition of our community work and iconic sports facilities. We were in very good company in both categories and are really pleased to win the Health Destination – Clubs Award. We congratulate all the finalists in gaining recognition for their significant contribution to the region.
For us, it’s reward for the vision and hard work of our Board, staff and all our stakeholders. It’s also an award for our customers who continue to use the facilities and drive us forward as we seek to continually improve. It’s a great boost as we prepare for a period of expansion at Transition Extreme. We hope to secure planning permission this month for the development of a new outdoor extreme sports park adjacent to our existing indoor Centre and we are looking at ways of building both the range and effectiveness of our community programmes across health & wellbeing, sport, employability and education.
We are really looking forward to being able to serve many more people going forward whether it’s sport enthusiasts, leisure visitors, schools, community or corporate groups at what is already a fantastic destination for health and community activities. Most importantly we look to continually achieve our primary purpose through our facilities and programmes – namely to support young people to make the difficult transition into adulthood a positive one for themselves, their families and the community in which we live, work and play”
