Scottish Schools Competition

The Scottish Schools Climbing Competition (SSCC)   started in the academic year 2009 – 2010. The competition was a great success in bringing together pupils from all over Scotland to compete on behalf of their school. The competition encourages any Scottish Secondary School pupil to take part in the competition at their chosen climbing wall.

The competition is designed to allow participants of all abilities to be able to take part in the first round, which comprises of Bottom Rope and Lead Rope climbing split into male and female categories in 3 different age groups. Competitors must compete on behalf of their school. This can be done either as part of an instructed session (organised by the school), or as an individual (possibly with a parent or guardian) at their chosen wall.

Entry to the competition is free, however normal entry and instructor fee's are applicable.

Climbing Walls taking part in the 2013 Scottish Schools Climbing Competition are;

Glasgow – Glasgow Climbing Centre
Aberdeen - Transition Extreme
Edinburgh - Alien Rock
Stirling  - The Peak  Gairloch - Gairloch Leisure Centre

Round 1: Starts 26th November 2012 and finishes 21st December 2012.

The top climbers from the first round will be invited to take part in the Grand Final to be hosted at the Glasgow Climbing Centre on 9th March 2013.
